Cambodia Motorcycle Adventure from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap via Cardamom Mountains, Preah Vihear – Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Phnom Penh motorcycle tour to Kirirom National Park (Approx. 150 km)
The adventure begins in Phnom Penh, where you’ll head west towards Kirirom National Park. The day’s ride takes you through rural dirt roads and scenic paths, leaving the bustling city behind as you enter Cambodia’s stunning countryside. Kirirom, known for its pine forests and waterfalls, offers a cooler climate and refreshing views of mountains and forests.
Upon arrival, you’ll have time to explore Kirirom National Park, visiting local waterfalls, wildlife reserves, and enjoying the serene natural environment. The off-road trails leading to the park provide an excellent introduction to Cambodia’s rugged terrain, with plenty of opportunities for thrilling riding. Day 2: Kirirom National Park motorcycle tour to Koh Kong (Approx. 170 km)
Your ride continues west into the Cardamom Mountains, one of Cambodia’s most remote and untouched natural areas. The off-road tracks become more challenging as you navigate through jungle trails, cross rivers, and ride through mountainous terrain. The Cardamoms are home to an array of wildlife, and the scenery is breathtaking, with dense forests, waterfalls, and rivers winding through the mountains.
Today’s destination is the coastal town of Koh Kong, located near the Thai border. Koh Kong is known for its pristine beaches, tropical forests, and the nearby Tatai Waterfall, where you can take a refreshing dip after a long day of riding. Overnight in Koh Kong, with time to relax by the coast.
Day 3: Koh Kong motorcycle tour to Pursat (Approx. 180 km)
Set off early as you ride further through the Cardamom Mountains, tackling some of the most rugged off-road trails in Cambodia. Today’s journey takes you deeper into the rainforest, with thrilling river crossings, dirt tracks, and isolated villages providing plenty of excitement. The ride is challenging, but the reward is incredible views of the untouched Cambodian wilderness.
Arriving in Pursat, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the floating villages on the Tonle Sap lake, where locals live in houses built on the water. The floating villages are a fascinating cultural experience, offering a glimpse into a way of life that has remained largely unchanged for centuries. After a day filled with adventure, rest overnight in Pursat.
Day 4: Pursat motorcycle tour to Battambang (Approx. 150 km)
Today’s ride takes you to Battambang, one of Cambodia’s most picturesque towns. The journey offers a mix of off-road trails and more relaxed rural roads, passing through rice fields, palm trees, and rural communities. You’ll ride through quiet villages, experiencing Cambodia’s agricultural heartland up close.
Once in Battambang, explore the town’s colonial architecture, local markets, and the famous Bamboo Train, a unique local attraction. Day 5: Battambang motorcycle tour to Preah Vihear (Approx. 170 km)
Today, you’ll leave Battambang and ride north towards the majestic mountaintop temple of Preah Vihear, a UNESCO World Heritage site located on the border with Thailand. The route takes you through off-road trails, rural farmland, and dense jungle paths, with stunning mountain views as you approach the temple.
Preah Vihear is one of Cambodia’s most awe-inspiring ancient sites, perched high on a cliff with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The temple is much less visited than the Angkor temples, offering a more peaceful and serene experience. Day 6: Preah Vihear motorcycle tour to Koh Ker (Approx. 150 km)
After a morning exploring more of Preah Vihear, you’ll set off for Koh Ker, an ancient Angkorian capital hidden deep in the jungle. Day 7: Koh Ker motorcycle tour to Beng Mealea (Approx. 120 km)
Today’s journey takes you to the overgrown jungle temple of Beng Mealea, one of the most atmospheric and hidden temples in Cambodia. The off-road ride to Beng Mealea is rugged and remote, offering a thrilling experience as you navigate through dense forests and rural paths.
Beng Mealea is a vast temple complex that has been largely reclaimed by the jungle. The trees and vines growing through the stone structures give it a mysterious, untouched feel. Day 8: Beng Mealea motorcycle tour to Siem Reap (Approx. 100 km)
