You are met and picked up for the riding challenge out of the bustling city to Thai Nguyen Province where you have a stopover. Then you continue the ride to Bac Son which is located in the northern mountainous province of Lang Son, exposed in a vast valley surrounded by stretching mountains creating poetic scenery. You will stay overnight at a hotel or homestay in Bac Son.

Day 2: Northern Vietnam Off-road Motorbike Tour: Bac Son motorbike tour to Quang Uyen via That Khe
You will get up early in the morning to expose the peaceful villages, explore the daily life of local people, and taste local pancake for breakfast. You start riding through the incredible valley to visit one of the first historical relic Bac Son museum where they display documents, picture, and some objects relating to Vietminh revolution against French, September 27, 1940. You continue to ascend long climb to That Khe junction for lunch. After lunch, you keep riding on Route Three head to Quang Uyen. You will have dinner and stay overnight in the Hotel.

Day 3: Quang Uyen motorbike tour to Cao Bang with ride to Ban Gioc waterfall
After a hearty breakfast in the hotel, you pay a visit to the local market to learn about the local production or taking pictures with friendly people. Commence to ride from hotel cross Gam river head to east direction to Ban Gioc Waterfall, you ride on tarmac road with stunning scenic beauty, fascinating cast mountain ranges dotted with hill tribal villages. You also conquer seven kilometers steep pass before descending to Quang Uyen town. Upon arriving in Quang Uyen, you cycle on the undulating road through numerous hill tribal villages and stop for lunch en route. After lunch, you continue to ride and admire on a newly paved road to Ban Gioc water Fall. You will have dinner and stay overnight in Cao Bang.

Day 4: Cao Bang Motorbike Tours To Ba Be Lake
This great motorcycle tour to the north of Vietnam starts at around 8 AM. We ride through several amazing mountain passes. We arrive Pac Ngoi – a beautiful village of Tay people which located peacefully at Ba Be lake’s side. Diner and stay with the Tay’s family.
Ba Bể Lake (Vietnamese: Hồ Ba Bể – Ba means “Three”, Bể is from the Tay language word pé, meaning “lake”) is the largest natural lake in Vietnam. It is located in Nam Mẫu commune, Bắc Kạn district, Bắc Kạn Province in the northeastern region of the country. Having been formed approximately 200 million years ago, the lake is surrounded by limestone cliffs, which in turn are covered by primary forests.
The lake comprises three zones named Pé Lầm, Pé Lù, and Pé Lèng. Three rivers, named Năng, Tả Han, and Nam Cường, are the main inflows of the lake. The Năng river enters the lake through a large waterfall called Đầu Đẳng. In the lake there are also three islands, named Án Mã, Khẩu Cúm, and Po Gia Mải (literally “Widow’s Island”).

Day 5: Ba Be Lake Motorcycle Tour To Bao Lac (120 Km)
Saying good bye to the family, we’ll ride motorbike on the back-roads through some rustic villages and the jungle. Then we motorbike across some streams. This promise to be a great day for off-road Vietnam motorbike touring. We will stop in Bao Lac town for lunch and then continue the beautiful motorcycle tour Northern Vietnam to Meo Vac by taking a scenic route climbs over many Passes where we can enjoy beautiful mountain ranges and the Nho Que river. Arrive at Bao Lac by 5.00PM. Dinner in town, Hotel stay.
Meo Vac Town is located in the heart of the Dong Van Rock Plateau, which was recognized as part of the Global Geo-Park Network in 2009, the Dong Van old quarter is home to age old and unique architecture near Ha Giang Province’s border with China. Day 6: Bao Lac Motorbike Tour to Dong Van
Today’s ride promises to be the highlight of this motorcycle trip in North Vietnam as we will visit one of the most remote land in Vietnam where we can see many ethnic groups with their unique cultures and imposing mountains. The scenic route climbs over a pass, and then we descend down to Meo Vac valley, a beautiful valley situated very close to the Chinese border.
You will take a bamboo rafting crossing the river. Then we take time to climb over the Ma Pi Leng Pass where we can enjoy beautiful mountain ranges and the Nho Que river – just an amazing place to be! We keep hitting the zigzag roads to Dong Van, visiting these remote areas, we will witness how hard the locals struggle with their environment for survival and development. We will stay in town to get the chances to visit the ancient streets with old houses of the H’mong made of clay bricks and tile roofs, built centuries ago.

Day 7: Dong Van motorbike tour to Ha Giang
A leisurely ride from Dong Van to Yen Minh & Quan Ba, this day will make your itinerary a good pace, not in a rush. We will visit the infamous Vuong Palace, a H’mong family of high rank during French colonial rule – this palace attracts keen interest from architecturally minded visitors due to its mixed style of European and Chinese architecture. We then hit the road back to Quan Ba and downhill to Ha Giang.
This is for sure the best motorbike ride in Vietnam with many interesting and amazing things in every meter of the road. Arrive Ha Giang in the late afternoon. Dinner and stay with the other Tay’s family or stay in hotel in Ha Giang city.

A long but stunning scenery along the zigzag road from Ha Giang to Bac Ha will make today a little busier, some parts of the road might be difficult to travel so make sure that you depart early this day from Ha Giang to arrive to Bac Ha in time before dark. Note: Road from Ha Giang to Hoang Su Phi then Xin Man – Bac Ha can be bad and impossible to ride during the raining season, however a backup to travel to Bac Ha is already planned.

Day 9: Bac Ha motorbike tour to Sapa
Today we head straight towards the North-western mountain where the main Fanxipan Mountain range dominates the road until Sapa. The road is very smooth with a good view of green mountain, rice fields between lovely villages of the hill tribes. After a short break in Lao Cai to see Chinese border, we will have very beautiful motorbike ride up to Sapa. This motorbike ride is up and up till 1.600 meters above sea level. It offers a great view of the mountain with terrace fields and it must be one of the best motorbike ride in North Vietnam.

Day 10: Sapa Motorbike tour to villages
Hop on your motorbike and head towards some of the nearby ethnic minority villages. Popular villages to visit include Cat Cat Village (home to the H’mong ethnic group), Ta Phin Village (inhabited by the Red Dao people), and Lao Chai Village (belonging to the Black H’mong community). Along the way, take breaks to admire the stunning scenery of the Vietnamese countryside. There are many picturesque spots where you can stop for photos or simply to enjoy the view. Sapa is known for its beautiful landscapes, ethnic minority villages, and vibrant markets. Spend time exploring the villages on foot, interacting with locals, and learning about their traditional way of life. Day 11: Sapa Motorbike Tour to Mu Cang Chai via O Quy Ho Pass and Than Uyen
Ưe continue the route to Mu Cang Chai, we will make a splendid climb up from Sapa to the top of the highest road pass in Vietnam (Tram Ton Pass). Crossing into Lai Chau Province at over 2000m above sea level. This is a short motorbike ride but could be the most enjoyable motorbike tour from Sapa. The ride offers you amazing view of the Hoang Lien mountain ranges for miles and miles.

Day 12: Mu Cang Chai Motorbike Tours To Ta Xua via Tram Tau (167 Km)
We keep riding up and down into a forested and high mountain region populated by H’mong peoples, We will hike up a very high mountain pass before descending into a mountainous tea-growing region. Soon after we follow along the valley floor covered in a sea of rice surrounded by Hmong and Thai’s villages all the way to Phu Yen. Especially, after lunch in Mu Cang Chai – a famous land for terrace fields so the ride through Mu Cang Chai is another highlight of this Motorcycle tours North Vietnam.
Ta Xua is a range of mountains in Bac Yen District of Son La Province, located in the north of Vietnam and around 240 km from Hanoi. It forms a natural border between the two provinces Yen Bai and Son La. The highest mountain of Ta Xua is ranked the 10th highest mountain top in Vietnam, at the height of 2865 m. Its three main mountain tops form a line which looks like the rough back of a dinosaur. Hence the place is also called “dinosaur backbone”.
Ta Xua is mostly known for a special phenomenon around its mountains: the formation of thick clouds, making us visitors feel like we are standing right in Heaven.

Day 13: Ta Xua Motorcycle Tours To Pu Luong via Moc Chau & Mai Chau (150 Km)
It’s also a enjoyable motorbike ride from Bac Yen to Pu Luong! It offers some different views from the days before with different hill tribes. Right after Phu Yen town, we will have great ride along the Da River lake on the winding road between the river lake and mountains. it is likely a motorcycle tour on the coastline in the central Vietnam.
After crossing the Da river by a ferry, we will motorcycle up and up to Moc Chau plateau where we stop for lunch, then after lunch, we’ll make a turn to the quiet mountain road named Hua Tat – it’s built by the French during the war time and nowadays, it is like a forgotten so the short ride to Pu Luong is also the best part of the trip.

Pù Luông National Park is located in Thanh Hoa province in northern Vietnam. This National Park is situated in Quan Hóa and Bá Thước districts of Thanh Hóa Province, North Central Coast region of Vietnam. Pu Luong National Park is bordered by Mai Châu, Tân Lạc and Lạc Sơn districts of Hòa Bình Province. The Pu Luong national park is located along two parallel mountain ridges, that run from north-west to south-east, and are divided by a central valley, which contains several human settlements and a large agricultural land area, therefore, is not included within the nature reserve.

Day 14: Pu Luong Motorcycle Tour Back To Hanoi
Getting up late, feel the peaceful life of the local by walking around the Kho Muong valley and water wheels and then start the motorbike ride back to Hanoi . After 2 beautiful mountain passes – Thung Khe and Doc Cun we will have lunch and then join the high way back to Hanoi. We will be back to the hotel before rush hours safely.
