Around 900m above sea level, it is noticeably warmer than Sapa.

One of Bac Ha’s main industries is she manufacture of alcoholic home brews (rice wine, cassava wine and corn liquor). The corn hooch produced by the Flower H’mong is so potent it can ignite! It is really difficult to find the exact words to describe Ma Pi Leng Pass, located between Dong Van and Meo Vac, near the northernmost tip of Vietnam, as a painting of astonishing beauty and magnificence that captures the eyes of all viewers and nature lovers.
Ride on a zig-zag track until reaching Vuong Family’s Residence, 14 kms before Dong Van.
Vuong Family was considered the King of the Hmong People in Dong Van, Ha Giang. Their residence was built in the scenic valley of Sa Phin with Chinese architecture. The whole house was built out of wood and rock only. The rocks for the buildings were imported from China. Vuong Family Residence is a masterpiece of man work in the valley of heavenly beauty of Sa Phin.
This is a remote area and we can meet the hard-working local people here. It is inspiring to see how they survive as they manage live in the rocks. TALK TO A LOCAL EXPERT
Have questions about route difficulty, bike selection, or customized dates? Our tour specialists are ready to help you plan the ride.
The best time to ride Vietnam is spring (February to May) and autumn (August to November). Temperatures are moderate and rainfall is lighter. Northern mountain passes like Ha Giang and Ma Pi Leng are particularly majestic during autumn when terraced rice fields turn golden.
How can I ride motorbikes legally in Vietnam?
Riders should possess an International Driving Permit (IDP - 1968 Convention) with a valid motorcycle endorsement along with their home country motorcycle driving license. Our tour leader ensures all briefings and local regulations are respected.
Is it safe to ride a motorcycle in Vietnam?
Guided motorbike travel in Vietnam is safe and rewarding when accompanied by experienced road captains. We keep a controlled group pace, navigate challenging intersections smoothly, and enforce strict safety gear standards.
What riding gear is included and what should I bring?
We provide certified helmets, elbow and knee protection, and gloves. Riders are strongly encouraged to bring their own fitted riding jacket, waterproof motorcycle boots, and breathable rain gear for maximum personal comfort.
What happens in case of a mechanical breakdown?
Our tours carry toolkits and essential spare parts. For groups of 5 or more riders, an expert motorcycle mechanic travels with the group. If any bike experiences a major issue, it is repaired immediately or replaced with an equivalent machine.
Can pillion passengers (couples/friends) join?
Absolutely! Pillion passengers are warmly welcomed on our scenic routes. Our Honda CB500X and BMW R 1250 GS adventure machines provide superb two-up comfort with dedicated pillion rates.
