DAY 1: HANOI MOTORCYCLE TOUR TO BA BE NATIONAL PARK (BAC KAN) – BOAT TRIP

We start our North-east Vietnam motorbike tour by getting out of Hanoi to head up Road 3. Busy motor ride in the morning until lunch. And then we turn into most empty road, passing peaceful villages and rice fields before through Ba Be National Park.

Ba Be National Park is an abundant bioreserve area containing the world’s only fresh-water karst lake and several rare species of fauna and flora. The biodiverse 10,048ha park – home to 1,268 species of flora and fauna, a series of caves and a gigantic fresh water lake – was established in 1992 by the Vietnamese Government to preserve forest ecosystems in the northeast.Ba Be is home to over 3,000 people from the ethnic minorities of Tay, Nung, Dao and Mong, who live in 13 villages within the park. The Tay people have inhabited Ba Be area for centuries and make up 58 per cent of the population within the park’s boundaries.

Ba Be Lake is renowned for its picturesque landscapes. As you cruise on the lake, you’ll be surrounded by towering limestone cliffs covered in thick vegetation, lush forests, and clear blue waters. Visiting Puong Cave, which is located along the Nang River. The cave is famous for its impressive stalactites and stalagmites formations. You may have the opportunity to swim in the lake or go kayaking, allowing you to get even closer to the natural beauty of Ba Be. One of the main attractions of Ba Be Lake is its tranquility and the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. DAY 2: MOTORBIKE TOUR TO BAN GIOC WATERFALL AND HALONG BAY: BA BE NATIONAL PARK – MOTORCYCLE TOUR TO QUANG UYEN AND BAN GIOC WATERFALL

After breakfast, we ride up to Ban Gioc via Ma Phuc Pass and Quang Uyen Cao Bang.

Province. It is on the way between Cao Bang Town and the Ban Gioc Waterfall. The pass is not famous with the elevation or the danger like some others in Vietnam, but with the natural beauty that one could capture from the top of the pass.

Keep riding to Ban Gioc waterfall, one of Vietnam’s best-known waterfalls. It’s a very scenic spot, marking the border with China, but sees very few visitors. The name Ban Gioc is derived from the Montagnard languages spoken in the area, and is sometimes spelt Ban Gioc.

The waterfall is the largest, although not the highest, in the country. The vertical drop is 53m, but it has an impressive 300m span; one end of the falls is in China, the other is in Vietnam. The falls have three levels, creating a sort of giant staircase, and there’s enough water any time, most years, to make the trip worthwhile.

DAY 3: BAN GIOC WATERFALL – MOTORCYCLE TOUR TO LANG SON CITY

After breakfast, you will be visiting Ban Gioc Waterfall and Nguom Ngao Cave – a magnificent limestone cave with impressive stalactites and stalagmites. Then we ride to Lang Son, passing Dong Khe town, Battle of Route Coloniale 4.

The Battle of Dong Khe was a major battle of the First Indochina War. The fight began on 15 September 1950 and ended on 18 September with a French defeat. It took place in Dong Khe, in the Province of Tonkin, Vietnam, from September 15 to September 18, 1950, ending with a Viet Minh victory.

We will discover this city which has become a big trading post between China and Vietnam. You can shop for cheap Chinese products at the nearby Dong Kinh market.

DAY 4: MOTORBIKE TOUR TO BAN GIOC WATERFALL AND HALONG BAY: LANG SON MOTORCYCLE TOUR TO HALONG VIA MAU SON

After breakfast, we will riding to Halong Bay with a ride to the top of Mau Son which is a beautiful mountainous area located in Lang Son Province, Vietnam. It is known for its stunning landscapes, cool climate, and diverse flora and fauna. Mau Son Mount is a paradise for photographers. The landscapes, terraced fields, and ethnic villages provide ample opportunities for stunning photos.

Enjoy the tranquility and fresh air of the mountainous region. It’s an excellent place to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Keep riding to Halong Bay as you will ride along the coastline of North East Vietnam. Halong Bay, located in northeastern Vietnam, is one of the country’s most iconic and breathtaking natural attractions. It is known for its stunning seascape of thousands of limestone karsts and islets rising dramatically from the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular destination for tourists from around the world.

DAY 5: HALONG BAY CRUISE

12:00 CHECK-IN Warmly welcomed by Athena Team in Halong International Harbour. Complete the luggage check-in procedure at the waiting lounge before boarding for the cruise.

12:30 ONBOARD Transferred to the Athena Cruise by a tender boat. The Cruise Manager and the whole crew member welcome you onboard, a safety briefing and clearing our the itinerary will be delivered while you are enjoying our signature welcome drink

12:45 HAPPY LUNCH Lunch is served at our cozy restaurant. As the cruise departs towards Halong Bay – a natural wonder of the world, absorb yourself in the gorgeous scenery and famous sights of limestone

14:45 ACTIVITIES The cruise stops at “Bo Nau” cave (Pelican Cave), the core area of the world’s natural heritage. Transferring by tender to “Sung Sot” Cave (Surprising cave) – the biggest and the most beautiful cave in Halong Bay.

15:45 ACTIVITIES Leaving Surprising cave, keep moving by tender to the Titov island was named by Uncle Ho, after Gherman Stepanovich Titov – the Soviet astronaut who visited in 1962.

06:30 TAI-CHI CLASS Good morning the Bay by joining Tai-Chi Exercise on the sundeck in 30 minutes whilst cruising to “Luon” Cave.

07:00 BREAKFAST A light breakfast is ready to serve at the restaurant.

07:30 VISITING CAVE Visit “Luon” cave – one of the caves open to the form beautiful endemic then vegetation of Halong Bay. 2 options to choose how to discover it: kayaking for free and traditional woven (bamboo) boat rowed by a local boatman (public ticket 50.000đ/person).

09:00 CHECK OUT Come back to Athena cruise, relax and pack the luggage. Leave the luggage outside the door. Athena team will collect and get them ready on the Pier.

10:45 GOODBYE Transfer by tender back to Halong International Habour and disembarkation.
