North Centre Motorbike Tours delight all riders with the chance of riding motorbike trips through one of the three regions within Vietnam. Northern Vietnam is where the Vietnamese culture originated over 2000 years ago in the Red River Delta. The largest city in the North is Hanoi, the nation’s capital, other major cities include Hải Phòng. Northern Vietnam includes the following subregions:
Northwest (6 provinces: Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Đien Bien, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Son La). This subregion is located on right bank of Hong River.
Northeast (9 provinces: Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh.)
Red River Delta (10 provinces: Bac Ninh, Ha Nam, Ha Noi, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc). The Red River Delta is the flat plain formed by the Red River and its distributaries joining in the Thái Binh River in northern Vietnam. The delta measuring some 15,000 square km is well protected by a network of dikes. It is an agriculturally rich area and densely populated. Most of the land is devoted to rice cultivation.
Eight provinces together with two municipalities, the capital Hà Nội and the port Hải Phòng form the delta. It has a population of almost 19 million. The Red River Delta is the cradle of the Vietnamese nation. Water puppetry originated in the rice paddies here.
